INKLE BAND WEAVING Delve into pick-up techniques for floating motifs on the versatile Inkle Loom. We'll explore various warp-faced structures, colour theory, warping and thread manipulation. Learn to draft patterns and complete several bands featuring your own designs. Leave with new skills, beautiful handwoven bands, and the confidence to continue weaving. All materials provided. Ilka's practice spans woven textiles, sculpture, installation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. She taught Weaving and Textile History at RMIT before working throughout Australia as an artist and community facilitator. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in publications and public collections. Ilka's popular classes reflect her contemporary use of traditional methods, sustainability principles and a love of making by hand. She's a great believer in the capacity of connection and creativity to lift collective spirits!
