Stefan Gevers takes a contemporary approach to working with watercolour. His work is inspired by many road trips through country Australia and his interest in the natural environment & delicate shifting patterns in nature are often a starting point for his work. Inspired by timing, repetition and movement and the inherent patterns within that. While most paintings are abstract or abstracted, it refers to the landscape and retains a strong figurative link and a defined horizon line.
Stefan’s work has been collected by the Victorian & Queensland State Libraries, Artbank the NAB collection, Peter McCallum and numerous private collections throughout Australia and Europe.
Stefan exhibits widely as a solo artist and as part of collaborative exhibitions.
