REVERSIBLE FELTED PULLOVER TOP WITH PINE NEEDLE COLLAR AND DETAIL
With this reversible pullover with Pine Needles and pockets class, explore how this beautiful detail can be incorporated in more structural felt, whilst constructing a reversable felted top. Expect to learn about pattern making and adaption for felting, Leiko will share her way of making garments and pattern making which is applicable to other felted garments and different sizes.
Leiko named this lacy felt technique, Pine Needles in the mid 90’s, inspired by pine needles spread on sow surface and she has been developing this technique in different ways. *Felting experience essential
*Experienced – this course assumes you have some experience in felting. The tutor won’t have time to focus on teaching basic skills as this course is designed to build on prior knowledge.

Leiko Uchiyama Japanese born and Irish living was an agriculture student and a sheep shearer when she first started making felt. She creates wearable pieces with wool and silks which she dyes using her own colour recipes, as well as functional pieces for the home such as tableware, stool tops, wall pieces or rugs.
She work on the philosophy that the origin of craft lies in creating something for someone special, not only to serve a function, but to make our lives more colourful and rich.
