Summer Brushes is an onsite artist retreat based at Longerenong Agriculture College, 229 Longerenong Road, Longerenong, Victoria. The college sets the scene for this five-day intensive workshop program working with one of 15 tutors. Longerenong is a 15-minute drive from Horsham in regional Victoria. It's unique, remote location is the perfect site depicting the Wimmera’s summer landscape.

SB27 offers fully residential, workshop or creative studio (Untutored) options upon booking. This is a five-day program with a half day non-teaching mid-week. Select one tutor of your choice of workshop for the duration of the week. It is highly recommended that you book early as numbers in workshops and accommodation are strictly limited.

The workshops will run Monday – Friday from 9am–4pm and Wednesday half day 9am–12noon. Your workshop booking includes morning tea and lunch. Morning tea is supplied in your workshop with basic tea bags, plunger coffee and some biscuits. Please bring your own diet requirement milk if other than full cream and low fat cows milk and morning snack. The lunch and dinner is professionally catered with fresh menu options daily. All dietary requirements can be arranged (for lunch and dinner only) but you will need to add this detail in the booking notes when booking. The accommodation booking fee includes breakfast and dinner.

Our SB27 workshops will take place on campus where all workshop spaces and accommodation are fully air-conditioned!

Summer Brushes Twilight Makers Market
Sunday 10 January from 7–8:30pm (this will begin after dinner in the courtyard) onsite at Longerenong College. There will be a wide range of quality hand craft and visual art by the tutors and students participating in Summer Brushes. Join our creative studio (Untutored) sessions, in a relaxed, self-directed space. This is perfect for artists wanting to refine their skills, experiment, or simply enjoy dedicated studio time with a small group of up to six others.
*To keep our studio comfortable and welcoming for all, please be mindful of your volume. Noise restrictions may apply. Additionally, we require artists to use only low-toxic painting mediums and solvents.

Single Bed Rm – 6 nights onsite accommodation $865
All rooms are furnished single rooms including a small bar fridge, wardrobe, study desk and chair. Your accommodation will have shared bathrooms, shared kitchenettes and all rooms are fully air-conditioned. BYO linen – pillow, sheets (single bed), doona and towel. Check-in from Sunday 10 (check-in any time after 2pm) – Saturday 16 January (check-out before 10am).

KING Single Bed Rm – 6 nights onsite accommodation $1,100
All rooms are furnished KING single rooms including a small bar fridge, wardrobe, study desk, chair and a TV. There are 3 units – each unit comprises of 7 king single rooms. Each unit will share 4 showers, 4 toilets, kitchen and lounge area – all rooms are fully air-conditioned. All linen will be supplied in rooms. Check-in from Sunday 10 (check-in any time after 2pm) – Saturday 16 January (check-out before 10am). Rooms will NOT be serviced during your stay.

Motel Rm – 6 nights onsite accommodation $1,500*
All rooms are fully self-contained Queen bedrooms. Each unit comprises of 4 self-contained motel rooms. All rooms are fully air-conditioned. ALL Linen is provided – sheets, doona, pillow & towel. Check-in from Sunday 10 (check-in any time after 2pm) – Saturday 16 January (check-out before 10am). Rooms will NOT be serviced during your stay.

Cancellations to 31 October 2026 – refund 80%
Cancellations from 1 November 2026 – refund 50%
Cancellations from 31 December 2026 – No refund available

GrampianArts reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum class enrolment is not reached by 1/12/2026. If a workshop is cancelled, participants will be offered places in other workshop or a full refund if preferred.

NOTE: All workshops have material lists and many have a small materials fee payable to your tutor in class. A position in a workshop is reserved once payment of fees has been received. Your class material list is available on our website on the workshop page.

To ensure a positive experience for everyone, including GrampianArts Committee members, volunteers, tutors, students and traders, we ask that you consider your interactions and behaviours during all parts of the program. GrampianArts has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of violence, harassment, or intimidation. This includes physical, verbal, and emotional abuse. Once reported and investigated, any violation will result in a reminder of this policy and removal from the workshop if behaviours continue.
