This is a creative mixed media painting and drawing workshop using various mediums to explore textures, colours, patterns and layers. Use your imagination, get inspired by the materials and find your unique self in this innovative workshop, embracing a mix of beautiful media and adding some inventive ways to use them with unexpected results.
This workshop can include acrylic, watercolour, pastels, inks and more to bring in colour and use a variety of drawing materials and collage to create texture and depth. You will learn so much about the different media, what they can achieve and how to build up a drawing or painting layer by layer.
Create your favourite subject in new and different approaches, still life, landscape, seascapes, abstract, figurative even portrait. Most of all you will have fun, learn to use various materials and unleash your imagination. *INTERMEDIATE
*INTERMEDIATE – this course assumes you have some experience in drawing, painting or printmaking.
The tutor won’t have time to focus on teaching basic skills as this course is designed to build on prior knowledge.

Catherine lives on the Mornington Peninsula. She is an established professional award-winning artist known for her colour, broad and innovative strokes and her original approach and inventive ways with the medium. She is drawn to various subjects which are recollections of her love of the local coastal scenes, skies, water, and reflections. These memories are often captured in several small sketchbooks which she works from in the studio.
Catherine’s work is exhibited in galleries in Australia and overseas. She is a highly regarded and popular tutor of the visual arts and has been teaching for over 28 years throughout Australia and conducts painting tours to Greece and the UK. Catherine has an enormous wealth of knowledge both in colour and the materials she uses including various and unusual painting techniques.
