With a strong emphasis on Australian native plants, this workshop is ideal for artists interested to approach floral painting in a detailed, yet creative way that leaves room for personal interpretation. Learning ink painting techniques as well as collage and stamping, you will develop your own visual lexicon to create your personal highly experimental vision of the bush. ALL LEVELS

Sofie Dieu owns a bachelor in textile design and sculpture, from Paris applied art school Olivier de Serres. In 2016, she also graduated from Montpellier III University with a Master in Visual Art and Contemporary Practice. She currently teaches design theory at Monash University.
Sofie’s collaborations include working with Sydney Biennale, the Big Anxiety Festival and the Mosaic Festival. She is known in Gippsland for her work with local communities. Her work has been exhibited at Latrobe Regional Gallery and published in The Spirit of the Bush, Art of Gippsland.
In 2019, Creative Gippsland invited Sofie Dieu to its Artist in Community Program. That year, she also participated to Les Lizières (Fr.) and Falls Creek (VIC) residencies. Multi-art prizes and award finalist, Sofie Dieu’s work was included in John Leslie Art Prize, Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize, and Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize.
