You will explore the basics of botanical art as you are guided through creating at least two realistic botanical artworks. You can choose to complete your botanical works in either watercolour or graphite. There will be plenty of demonstrations to explain how things are done. It is a great course for students who are just starting their botanical art journey, or for those who want to further develop their drawing and painting skills. All levels

After careers in Australia’s international aid programme, and the Commonwealth Public Service, Sharon Field became an award-winning botanical artist whose work has been exhibited in Australia and internationally. She has held 12 solo exhibitions and delivered numerous public talks on botanical art and her creative practice, which is strongly focused on the impact of climate change on the natural world. Sharon, a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years, believes it is important to notice and value even the smallest elements in nature. Through careful observation, her work invites viewers to appreciate the beauty of plants thereby encouraging exploration of our natural world.
