Join me as we delve deep into a variety of water aspects, aiming for our water to feel wet and alive. This will include waves, shorelines with wet sand, boats with their reflections and water movement, plus landscape perspective within water. Emphasis will also be on optimal composition. Although Regina has been doing some form of art activity since childhood, her love of painting began on a more serious note in 1980 and it has taken her on many paths. Some unplanned, which includes rewarding prizes for her work in competitions and exhibitions, to travelling Australia, Europe and the United States plus the fabulous Greek Islands where she has taught workshops, classes or gave demonstrations. Her involvement in the Melbourne artist group Fusion Six inspired her to lift the bar and aim for greater heights in her career, namely painting larger works and entering national portrait competitions in which she has been a finalist several times and won Best Works on Paper in the A.M.E. Bale Art Prize.
The human form and waterscapes are what Regina likes to paint the most, particularly reflections in water and its movement. She aims to invite a sense of exploration in all that she paints, where the viewer can feel the atmosphere or that they are part of the scene. Regina predominately works in pastel and oils but enjoys the occasional use of acrylics, charcoal and watercolour pen & wash during her travels.
Her work is in public and private collections in different parts of the world, and can also be found printed in several art magazines and books. She's been honoured with a life membership and a Master Pastelist status with The Pastel Society of Victoria Australia, and is also a Fellow with The Australian Guild of Realist Artists.
