THE SILK-STITCHED LAVALIERE workshop full waiting list being taken Using the one pointed focus of our needle and thread to take us deep within our well of personal narrative we will develop our own magical symbol or talisman in the form of an embroidered pendant. Utilising a contemporary, signature ripped-silk technique, we will combine the looseness and painterly qualities of this method with traditional stitches to create a piece rich in texture and patterning. |

ART OF THE SAMPLER workshop full waiting list being taken Explore the endless possibilities of repetition and patterning to produce embroidered designs of rich surfaces and beauty. From the stripe, to the polka-dot, geometric to the floral, traditional embroidery will be rendered with contemporary solutions and design. Your sampling will be paired with drawing exercises to develop a toolkit and palette for endless translation to garment, furnishings, jewellery or small artwork. |

Trained in Textile design at RMIT in Melbourne, Trish Bygott has taught in the textile departments of both Curtin, and Edith Cowan Universities. Her practice, strongly underpinned by her own distinctive figurative motifs and style, has encompassed the hand-stitched and embroidery, the garment, public art, drawing, and the painted.
In 2009, Trish established Bukeshla, a design house and boutique gallery in Fremantle WA. With a focus on stitch and design, Trish has offered a series of in-house workshops since 2011 to explore both the healing nature of stitch, as well as the beauty and pleasure that can be found through fostering a foundation of good design and technique.
