Start by learning the meditative drawing approach to mandala and use these ideas to let your stitched mandala evolve. A relaxed and creative approach to embroidery, including design, demonstration of a wide range of embroidery stitches, colour development and appliqué. This class will provide you with a springboard to create a more relaxed and free form approach to stitch. All levels |

INSPIRATION NATURE Work from the nature around you: begin by observing and drawing and then through a variety of design prompts and exercises, create an individual design that you can fully explore and expand upon using stitch, appliqué, even paint and print. Let nature inspire you to work in an open and creative manner, while being guided and encouraged by Nicole. Be open to the element of surprise. Use remnants and scrap from your stash and take the skills you already have and run free with them. All levels |

Nicole Kemp is as an artist and teacher, presenting a diverse range of creative experiences from formal paint draw classes to stitch/textiles, Craftivist workshops and community art projects. Her recent work explores contemporary themes of social change and upheaval. Nicole has exhibited extensively in the past few years and Her Covid Quilt was acquired for the Museums Victoria Collection (2021), as a significant example of a historical moment in time. Nicole has worked as an art teacher all her life. She is now known as a mentor, workshop and community arts facilitator. She is particularly known for inspiring confidence in people to develop their own individual approach to their creative journey.
