In this workshop you will develop a personal theme, colour palette or sequence of related patterns and textures by printing, dyeing, painting and drawing on a collection of related fabrics, papers and threads with thickened dye and other media. These layers can then be worked into a series of books, wall works or 3D objects embellished with hand or machine stitch. All levels

Mahdi Chandler lives and works surrounded by the rugged landscape south of Hobart, Tasmania.
Mahdi has extensive experience working with a wide range of textile focused media, running an annual workshop program from her home studio for nearly 30 years and teaching interstate including Far North Queensland and many other spots along the eastern seaboard.
2025 saw Mahdi involved in several Artist residencies, retreats and exhibitions. She works intuitively, exploring, experimenting and problem solving in the process of making.
Mahdi approaches all her work, with what if, I wonder and “failing” brings opportunity to explore new and different paths.
