Develop your drawing and design skills while exploring a range of textile and mixed media techniques and processes including: thread drawing on fabrics and paper, collage, mixed media drawing, incorporating found materials and working with soluble fabric to create ‘lace’ thread drawings and text. Juliet D Collins is a Melbourne-based artist exploring the expressive potential of thread through textile and mixed media artworks. Grounded in drawing and freehand machine embroidery, her work engages with themes of identity, the female body, and lived experience. Originally from Scotland, she studied Fine Art in Edinburgh and completed graduate study at the VCA, University of Melbourne.
Juliet has exhibited her work across Australia and received several awards.
Passionate about creative learning and knowledge sharing, she regularly runs workshops and mentoring sessions that encourage others to explore their own unique artistic journeys.
