2 Day | Saturday 15 – Sunday 16 March 2025
ABSTRACT DRAWING IN STITCH AND CLOTH Using an experimental approach, you will create several intriguing self-portraits and still-life drawings using thread, stitch and cloth. You will be guided through simple and fun drawing exercises and basic hand stitching techniques aimed at emphasizing the character and substance of your subjects, not necessarily a likeness. The finished stitched drawings are often very powerful. Suitable for both the beginner and experienced fibre artist. No previous drawing or embroidery experience needed. All levels |
4 Day | Monday 17 – Thursday 20 March 2025
SLOW AND GENTLE : EXPLORING ABSTRACT OBJECTS IN FIBRE Learn to create a cohesive series of abstract fibre objects that reflect personal meaning and narrative. Building upon skills you may already have and using fun experimental exercises, you will begin to find your voice, trust your intuition and develop a confident and considered process. At the end of this workshop you will have several abstract objects that tell your story. Suitable for the beginner and experienced fibre artist. All levels |
