CONTEMPORARY SMALL SCULPTURE – WOVEN FIBRE & FOUND METALS – SOLD OUT please click the email link below if you would like to go on the waiting list Learn to combine found wire and basketry techniques with foraged elements from nature to create striking small sculpture. Using a wooden base you will drill, wrap, loop, weave and twine fibres and wires to make a tall freestanding sculpture. All levels* * Beginner but must have or get experience using a cordless drill. |

CONTEMPORARY MIXED MEDIA WOVEN SCULPTURE – FOUND METALS & FIBRES – SOLD OUT please click the email link below if you would like to go on the waiting list In this class we will explore the combination of soft fibres with some basic metal work techniques to create a woven wall or suspended sculpture. You will learn to pop rivet and drill through metal, weave off the metal and join fibres to make interesting 2D or 3D woven sculpture. Harriet will use the basketry technique of paired and reverse twining, combining a variety of fibres to create pattern and texture in your work. Intermediate* * Some soft weaving experience beneficial but must have or get experience using a cordless drill and have strong hands. |

Harriet Goodall is a prominent Australian fibre sculptor known for transforming natural and reclaimed materials into evocative works that explore identity and ecological connection. Her affinity with Australian landscapes continues to inform her practice. In 2005, she co-founded a Fair-Trade venture with Quechua women from Peru which sparked her passion for natural dyes and weaving, catalysing a shift into her own practice. For 15 years, Goodall has maintained studios on Gundungurra land, led international retreats as a tutor with ACE Camps and taught thousands of students through her online workshop ‘Form to Freedom’. Her work is exhibited in solo exhibitions and commissioned for collections through Gallery Jennings Kerr.
