RUSTY BLUES ON PAPER – only 1 place left! Mark making and pattern development will be the focus of this workshop on paper. We will set up an Indigo vat and rusting baths to dip papers into and you will be shown how to create Shibori patterns. Papers may be embellished with stitching and small pieces of fabrics or collaged and drawn into with pens and pencils. Papers may be stitched together in pamphlet stitched booklets. All levels |

For those of you with experience more involved techniques will be introduced for you to experiment with. Cathy Moon has been exhibiting and teaching shibori workshops for the past few decades. She obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of New England, Diploma of Textiles and Design from Newcastle CAE and her Fabric Printing and Design Certificate from Armidale TAFE. She has taught Textiles at High Schools and TAFE’s. Her formal studies in Textiles led to an in-depth study of fabrics, dyes and shibori techniques. In 2018 she attended the World Shibori Symposium in Japan to learn shibori techniques from Shibori Masters. Cathy has taught extensively throughout Australia and in Scotland. Her work has been exhibited at The World Shibori Symposiums in Paris and Hong Kong and has been purchased by galleries, private collectors and has appeared in major publications.
