WATERLESS LITHOGRAPHY WITH COLLAGRAPH

This technique enables the artist to create a lithographic image in a swift and effortless manner. The process is far less toxic than traditional lithography. Then combine this with collagraph plate which will register perfectly while enhancing your key plate with colour.

We will specifically concentrate on how to inject and capture the mood of the subject. Working each day with a different form: still life, the figure and landscape and then photographs participants will be encouraged to create images in a loose way, not “copying” but instead creating their own depictions that are inspired by the daily theme but not restricted by it. The use of exciting colour, collaging, glazing, splashing, scraping, drawing, etc will all be encouraged as in the previous workshop.

Working mixed media, inspired by landscape, still life and the live model, ‘Painting Beyond Drawing’, is an extended journey from graphic linear drawings into highly expressive, semi-abstract, paintings. Develop expressive and exploratory approaches to painting through drawing, bring dynamic colour to life and enrich your paintings with strong composition and calligraphic notation. Weather permitting; we will do some en plein air sketching as the basis for our landscape explorations. All levels
