Hilary Peterson has taught in many mediums with TAFE NSW and currently through private workshops. She completed her Master of Arts - Visual and Performing Arts at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, in 2002 and has been teaching adults and children since 1994. Prior to this she studied Colour and Design in Sydney and was a successful Printed Textile Designer working in Australia and London for many years. She exhibits regularly and has work in private collections in the UK, Europe, the USA and Australia. Her work has appeared in Textile Fibre Forum magazine and she has tutored previously at Geelong and Orange FORUMs and ContextArt.

COLLAGRAPH PRINT FOR FABRIC AND PAPER
Learn how to make collagraph printing plates to personalise your textile work. Work from your own images or use found materials to create interestingly textured and toned surfaces. Colour later to create a connecting series. You can print on fabric or paper (or both) whichever you prefer for your future projects.

DYE PRINT LAYER STITCH
Build layers with plant dyes, ochre staining, lino/mono/geli plate printing and frottage, mark making with brushes and found objects on fabric to create images. Work with layering a variety of fabrics such as sheer and heavier weight to create depth and mystery in your work. Create texture with hand stitching to give contrast and texture.
